It's time to grow up and become God's "adult" children.
This being a child for 2,000 years bit dawned on me several years ago...and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind since. I mean really. 2,000 years! Surely it's time we grow in our awareness of who and what we really are.
So, an 'adult' child of God. What does that mean? What does it look like? To me, something like this:
1. A Grown-Up Understanding and Experience of God. God is no longer an external father figure, and we are no longer small children in need of external guidance and redemption. We are maturing physical and spiritual beings. Our core essence is Eternal Love. I picture God as an Ocean and we are drops in the Ocean. We are one with the Ocean AND separate as drops! One could say we are Drops of God! :)
2. A High Level of Personal Responsibility. Physical children have no personal responsibility for their thoughts, words, or actions. Physical adults do. As Spiritual children we've accepted no adults, we understand God gave us the ability and the free will to create our lives. We create through our thoughts, words, and actions. We are the source of the love and/or conflict we experience in our lives.
So, this is what I think. Everyone's relationship with our Creator is different and valid. Comments?
