An 'adult' child of God. What does that mean? What does
that look like? Here's my thoughts so far:
1. A Grown-Up Understanding of God. God
is no longer an external father figure, and we are no longer small children in
need of guidance and redemption. Continuing to think of ourselves as spiritual
children for over 2,000 years has actually kept us from a natural maturing in
our relationship with God. God is an eternal, intelligent, creative,
loving, and all powerful energy that flows through everyone and everything. We
are created by this Energy and given the spiritual power and free will to
create in our own lives.
2. A Grown-Up Acceptance of Spiritual Responsibility. Physical
children have little personal responsibility for their thoughts, words, or actions.
As adult children of God, we understand and accept the responsibility that we
are the source (do not read blame) of the love and/or conflict we experience in
our lives. We create with our thoughts, words, and actions.
